Private Guided Tours – A Sample Itinerary:
A possible itinerary might be as follows:
Day 1: Transfer from the airport to the Ellenborough Park Hotel, Cheltenham. Table booked at the Champignon Sauvage Restaurant Cheltenham 19h30 (7.30 pm).
Day 2: 09h30 Guide to meet you at the hotel and walk from there to Buckland Manor. He will go over the route notes and the itinerary during the day’s walking. Lunch can be taken in the village of Winchcombe.
Highlights of the walk: Cleeve Hill, Belas Knap burial mound, Winchcombe and Sudeley Castle, Hailes Abbey, Stanway House and Stanton. Approx. 13 miles
Bikes will be delivered to Buckland Manor either late evening or early morning.
Day 3: morning bike ride following by lunch in hotel.
13h30 – Driver will pick you up and take you to Bath – free day in Bath. Arrange time for the return journey directly with driver.
Day 4: Walk from Buckland via Broadway village, Broadway Tower to Chipping Campden. Approx 9 miles – the walk can continue to Hidcote Gardens. We will provide route notes.
Day 5: Walk from Chipping Campden via Blockley, Moreton in Marsh and Stow on the Wold to the Slaughters. Approx. 18 miles. If too far you can be collected at Stow on the Wold (or elsewhere).
Bikes will be delivered to the Lords of the Manor for the cycle ride the next day.
Day 6: Circular route from hotel – Bourton on the Water, Cold Aston – Turkdean-Hawling-Guiting wood Naunton and the Slaughters. A short detour from Turkdean will take you to Burford – and back the same way. Approx. 45 miles.
A shorter circular route including Bourton on the Water and Burford of approx. 20 miles is the alternative.
Day 7: Departure for airport. Depending on flight time, a circular walk from the hotel is possible.
